GENERAL MEETING at the 29 PALMS INN
Saturday, September 25, 2004
Morongo Basin Historical Society
We had a terrific meeting at the 29 Palms Inn in 29 Palms on Saturday, September 25th. We all met "under the tent" overlooking the pool at the Inn and heard TWO speakers from the 29 Palms Historical Society. 29 Palms Historical Society President Dick Moran provided an overview of the Old School House and Museum owned by their historical society. During the wonderful lunch provided by the Inn, Dick also provided us with their "Adopt-a-Homesteader" program. This was a most interesting program centering on how the program accessed early homesteader information in 29 Palms. The owner of the 29 Palms Inn and local historian Paul Smith provided a history of the 29 Palms Inn and the surrounding area which appears to be an "early man" location. All three programs were of immense interest to those in attendance. We would like to thank both Dick Moran and Paul Smith, as well as the 29 Palms Historical Society for a wonderful program at the beautiful historic 29 Palms Inn.
If you weren't there, you missed out!!!
