MBHS GENERAL MEETING
September 20, 2003
The MBHS General Meeting in September was held at the YV Elks Lodge on Saturday, September 20th. It was a well attended event with Pat Rimmington of 29 Palms presenting an outstanding program on adobe buildings in 29 Palms. THANKS, Pat. It was great!! Pat presented a signed copy of her book, Adobe Homes of 29 Palms, to the Morongo Basin Historical Society (MBHS). In return, the MBHS presented Pat a copy of Cooking Up History! ...............In other business, Membership Chair Bernice Faltrick presented Lifetime Membership Certificates to Lee Roy Arnett, Mildred Arnett and Betty Bilyeu. Not present to receive hers was Cindy Costello. ................../Twila Couzens, a 37 year resident of Yucca Valley with her husband Jim, has spent several years compiling a history, complete with photos, of the businesses/commercial buildings on 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley up to, and including, the year 2000. The complete history was presented to Ruth Long, MBHS Archivist, at the meeting. THANKS, Twila for all your hard work on this project!!
