Annual Meeting  & Cowboy Fashion Show

@ The Red Dog Saloon in Pioneertown

June 4, 2006

The Morongo Basin Historical Society had a full house at the Red Dog Saloon in Pioneertown on June 4, 2006.   The gathering was for the MBHS Annual Meeting, but the real interest was in the Cowboy Fashion Show!!.   MBHS member and Pioneertown Posse's own "Doc" (Ernie Kester) was the Master of Ceremonies for the fashion show and did an outstanding job of describing the Old West attire worn by the cowboys (for some of the cowgirls too!!).   A taste of the Old West was definitely in the air, complete with a little Honky Tonk piano by "Henry Fencepost" (Bill Wright)!!!

After a great BBQ luncheon and the fashion show, the Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers for 2006/07 was conducted.   The installing officer was the MBHS first President back in 1999 and current Yucca Valley Mayor, Paul Cook.   The officers installed were:  President Bob Connors, Vice President Lloyd Noel, Treasurer Tom Granger, Corresponding Secretary Marilee Granger and Recording Secretary Carol Post.
